OSBI Tries To Identify Man Who Died Under Mysterious Circumstances

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is hoping an artist's reconstruction of a victim's face will help identify a man who died a decade ago.

Someone found a man's body in Johnston County in July 2002. At the time, investigators believed the body was that of a teenage Hispanic male. The state medical examiner was unable to determine a cause of death, and no missing persons reports in the area matched the victim.

OSBI agents followed a few leads, but the case quickly turned cold.

An employee in the medical examiner's office recently re-examined the case, and determined the body actually belonged to a middle-aged Hispanic male. He died approximately two months before his remains were discovered. The medical examiner was still unable to determine how he died.

In an effort to identify the victim, OSBI forensic artist Harvey Pratt reconstructed the skull. OSBI has released photos of the new image with the hope someone will recognize him. At the time of his death, the man was wearing Levi's jeans size 28 W x 32 L, and size 6 ½ Adidas shoes.
