LOGAN COUNTY, Okla. - An Oklahoma high school basketball coach accused of performing lewd acts on young girls has been acquitted of more than half of the charges.

Coyle Public School's coach and teacher Stacey Brewer has been found not guilty of exposing himself to teenage girls.  More than a half dozen teenage girls came forward with accusations, starting more than two years ago.

His legal team is calling the verdict a huge victory.

"I think the witnesses that testified for the state of Oklahoma were not believable," said Brewer's attorney Cheryl Ramsey.

"The girls pretty much said he didn't demonstrate or say anything inappropriate to them in each of the events," said James Murray, who also represents Brewer.

Brewer still faces other charges including touching a player inappropriately during practice.  Court records show he is also accused of watching girls change into their uniforms. But Brewer's attorneys disagree with those charges, saying their client was never in the same room while his players changed into uniforms.

His defense team also says Brewer hopes to get another opportunity to coach and teach again.

"Anyone who takes a chance on him going into the classroom will be scrutinized just as much as Stacey will be. I think it will be very difficult," said Ramsey.

The Coyle Public School District says Brewer will remain on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the remaining charges
