OKLAHOMA CITY – Neighbors in a northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood awakened late Tuesday night when they heard a series of explosions caused by an intense house fire.
Just before midnight, a fire tore through a home in the 11000 block of Richhaven Road, which is near N.W. 112th Street and N. Rockwell. The family of four inside managed to escape just moments before flames destroyed the 3,000 square feet home.
Neighbors say they awoke when they heard a series of explosions coming from the house. The blasts happened when the cars inside the family's garage caught fire.
The fire destroyed the home, but no one was hurt. Firefighters don't know yet what caused the blaze. The family is staying with friends.
