YUKON, Oklahoma -- Get ready to hit the Chisholm Trail for family fun this weekend cause nothing says Old West like – crawfish?
Enjoy the Chisholm Trail Crawfish Festival that recreates the Old West with a live frontier village, entertainment and, of course, a crawfish eating contest. Festivities are set for Saturday through 6 p.m. and run through 3 p.m. Sunday at the Kirkpatrick Family Farm, 1001 Garth Brooks Boulevard in Yukon.
See the Old West come to life with a chuck wagon, blacksmiths, gunfights, the Texas Camel Corps, a saloon, saddle shop and jail. There will be primitive bow makers and flintnappers, pony rides, panning for gold and extreme rope making.
There's also live Zydeco and blues music, a crawfish race, Civil War demonstration, Marvin the Mechanical Bull and dance lessons.
