OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City voters decided a heated city council runoff Tuesday.

Residents of Ward 2 chose Ed Shadid by over 60 percent of the vote against Charlie Swinton. Shadid will replace outgoing councilman Sam Bowman.

This was the most expensive city council race in state history after an anonymous donor spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on the campaign.

Meanwhile, the Edmond City Council has two open spots. In Ward 1, Victoria Caldwell beat John Combs with 58 percent of the vote. In Ward 2, Elizabeth Waner won the city council seat against Anne DeClouette with 72 percent of the vote.

In Canadian County, residents voted down a measure that would split tax revenue originally designated for a new juvenile facility between the facility and county jail facilities.
