WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Three of the four prisoners who escaped from a Wichita Falls jail have been caught.
Guards conducting a routine count of prisoners at the Wichita County Jail Annex discovered the four men were missing around 7:00 a.m. on August 19.
The sheriff said this appeared to be a detailed escape the inmates had planned for a while. They managed to squeeze through the bars at the top of the jail, crawl through a vent and make their way to the roof.
Deputies captured James McClendon, Jimmy Hughes and Daniel Ramos Thursday afternoon. Police dogs tracked them down. Deputies arrested one woman in connection with their escape.
The only fugitive still on the run is 19-year-old Devontae Combs. He was in jail on an assault charge.
If you have any information about Combs' whereabouts, call the Wichita County Sheriff's Office at (940) 766-8170. Deputies believe he may still be in the Wichita Falls area.
