Major Announcement Set Friday For Tulsa's Gathering Place

A major announcement is expected Friday morning about Tulsa's Gathering Place.

Mayor GT Bynum and park director Tony Moore are making the announcement at 11 a.m. inside the Williams Lodge.

They say the announcement will "put Gathering Place and Tulsa in the national spotlight," but they won't give us any hints as to what they're announcing.

Tulsa's Gathering Place

You'll remember, Tulsa’s Gathering Place is in the running for USA Today’s "10 Best" Readers' Choice award for 'Best New Attraction' in the nation.

The winner of that award will also be announced at 11 a.m. Friday.

No word on if the two announcements are connected.
