OKLAHOMA CITY -- Dangerously high temperatures could cause problems for people spending time outdoors through Monday.
"If they don't recognize it quick enough, they could suffer the consequences from heat-related type symptoms," said Mike Roy, EMSA Operations Supervisor.
Emergency officials said they want to remind people getting out in the heat of a few tips to stay safe:
- Drink plenty of fluids
-Wear light-colored clothing. It's believed wearing dark colors could add another 5 degrees.
-Take time out in the shade to cool off.
Because of the heat, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for most of the state. The advisory goes through Monday.
