OKLAHOMA CITY -- A massive, free medical clinic is set to be at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds this July. It will provide free dental, vision and medical care for anyone who shows up.
But right now they are in desperate need of medical volunteers. A couple of Oklahoma City doctors are doing their part to drum up support.
Dr. Al Moorad is trying to get the word out, trying to encourage everyone he knows to step up and lend a helping hand to the upcoming medical mission he's involved in.
"The need is great," said Dr. Moorad. "We all have a passion about helping other people and we all feel like we need to give something back."
Dr. Subin Naidu agrees and has offered up his services as well.
"But we still need a lot more support to make this a success," Dr. Naidu said.
Both Dr. Moorad and Dr. Naidu are no strangers to medical missions. They recently returned from a Pros for Africa trip where they helped provide free medical care in Uganda. Now they're teaming up with Remote Area Medical (RAM) to do a similar effort in Oklahoma City.
RAM has held free clinics all over the country, but this will be the first one done on Sooner soil.
Everyone in the medical field is being encouraged to step up and volunteer for the three-day event this summer.
The RAM mission hits the fairgrounds July 9 - 11.
