OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Feed The Children Board of Directors have voted to install a new board member, ending Larry Jones' last official tie to the organization.
About 30 minutes after Feed The Children's annual board meeting began, its founder, Larry Jones, walked out.
"I'm not surprised they let me go," said Jones. "I am literally shocked that my Christian brothers didn't find another way for us to amicably work together."
Jones said he hoped to ask questions at the meeting, but was voted out before that happened. He says he wanted to see financial records and accuse the board of trying to rewrite the minutes from last year.
"For about two months, my attorney has been trying to get answers from them," said Jones. "And they have not been forthcoming. We have not received one single answer and this is wrong when it's a charity."
The charity says the records he wants will be released soon and they dispute his charges about the minutes.
Feed The Children released a statement saying in part; "Under Larry Jones' leadership the organization did a great deal of work and they were disappointed when certain events came to light forcing the board to remove him."
Jones was fired as president of the organization last November after the charity learned he had placed hidden microphones in the offices of top leaders.
Jones says he has been blamed for a lot of the problems at Feed The Children and now that he's that he's officially out he's hoping it's all over.
"As Nixon said, they don't have anybody to blame now," Jones said.
Jones still has pending lawsuits against the organization and a judge has ordered the charity to turn over financial records to Jones and his attorney by next Wednesday.
