Federal Emergency Management Administration officials said they are set to open a temporary disaster recovery center in Picher this morning, one week after an EF-4 twister leveled the town.
Tornado victims can meet and ask questions to emergency managers face-to-face. Emergency managers can also help victims register for aid.
The disaster recovery office will open at 9 a.m. Monday in the community center behind Picher City Hall. The center will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays at 116 Devilliers Circle.
The Internal Revenue Service, Small Business Administration and a number of other groups will also be present.
