After months of clean up and repair work happening in classrooms, administrators with Webbers Falls Public Schools say they're finally back to school Monday, September 9.

After last summer's historic flooding, the superintendent says they've been waiting on the state fire marshal to come out for an inspection before students could go back to the classrooms.

"I didn't have doorknobs on some of the doors," said Superintendent Dixie Swearingen. "We didn't have partitions on some of the restrooms. And in fact, the restrooms that are functioning are here in the main building. And in the Head Start building."

Superintendent Dixie Swearingen said many people in the state came together to help faculty and students. Different oil companies in Tulsa donated desks. The school was able to save some items like computers.

Some classrooms lost absolutely everything in them including all of their school supplies.

But a couple of weeks ago, Tulsa Public Schools, along with other area schools, stepped up and donated school supplies to Webbers Falls trying to get them ready for the first day of school.

It's still a work in progress as the school still needs some things like whiteboards.
