Tulsa Police arrested a suspect in one of the city’s recent homicides Monday near Pine and Memorial.

Reggie Lewis was arrested after officers said he tried to run away from them.

While police were trying to get Lewis out of a home, a woman and three children came out of the front door.

"Anytime you see kids come out and everybody's fine, you always get a sigh of relief because that's anyone's worst nightmare," Corporal Gene Watkins said.

Police said before bringing Reggie Lewis to the detective division for an interview, officers had to chase him after he ran out of the house. Once officers caught him, he was arrested without incident.

Lewis' girlfriend, Vanessa Foster, was arrested on a complaint of harboring a fugitive. They were staying at her relative’s home.

"It was actually some really good police work by homicide detectives and the warrant squad that led to this location. They've been working nonstop trying to find these people," Watkins said.

The homicide victim, Adrian Thornton, was shot and killed while sitting in his car at the Town Square Apartments about two weeks ago. Police said he was being robbed.

He died days before his 21st birthday.

Watkins said while this was a huge success for the case, the work isn't done yet, and they encourage Tulsans who have information about any case to speak up.

"Anybody wants to call in a tip, we'd be very happy or any of the other two homicides that we have some people outstanding on,” Watkins said. “We'd love to get those kinds of tips in Tulsa because that's what makes our job a lot easier.”

Police are still looking for another suspect in this case, Deiondre Grundy.

If you have any idea where he is, call Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip. The number is (18-596-COPS.
