Judge Denies Convicted Tulsa Murderer's Request To Withdraw Guilty Plea

The teenager who murdered Broken Arrow school teacher Shane Anderson and raped an elderly woman two years ago will not be allowed to withdraw his guilty plea. Deonte Green previously took a blind plea, and the judge sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The teen later said he did not understand what the plea meant, and he wanted to take it back.

On Thursday, the judge said Green does not have the right to take back his guilty plea. She said she questioned him extensively about his understanding of the plea, and he made his decision knowingly and willingly.

Shane Anderson's widow was in the courtroom, along with other family members and friends. They wore shirts that had a Superman logo with wings on them. On the back of some of the shirts were the words, "Shane is our hero."

The shirts refer to an interview News On 6 did with Deonte Green's stepfather where the stepfather said it was Anderson's fault that he was murdered because the teacher tried to act like "Superman" by defending his wife and children. This was when Deonte Green was holding a gun to Darcie Anderson's head at the couple's home.

"There is an inevitable next chapter of my life whether I want it or not," Darcie Anderson said.

"My husband Shane Anderson died protecting my life and the life of my two daughters, so Shane Anderson will always be my Superman."
