Bicyclists Find Man's Body In Sand Springs Parking Lot

Sand Springs Police are investigating after a body was found in a parking lot Thursday morning. Police said two bicyclists found the man's body around 6 a.m. July 4 in a parking lot near Charles Page and Adams Road, according to Sand Springs Police.

The cyclists started performing CPR on the man and called 911. Firefighters arrived on scene and tried to revive the man but pronounced him dead.

Police said the man appeared to be in his 30s, and they were able to identify him by papers in a nearby backpack. Police are also investigating a bicycle found at the scene.

"It's got circumstances that could lead to maybe a hit and run or it could just be a natural cause, and maybe the gentleman had a medical issue," said Jody Fogleman, Sand Springs Police.

Officers said they found drug paraphernalia at the scene, and the medical examiner's office is now looking into the possibility of a drug overdose.

Family members are being notified. The man's name has not yet been released.
