Police Chase Ends In Crash In Catoosa

Catoosa Police are working a police chase that ended in a crash late Saturday Night. Officials said Tulsa Police started the chase on a reported stolen vehicle.

Two men are in the hospital with serious injuries this morning after Tulsa Police say they led officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle then crashed near the Hard Rock in Catoosa.

According to the police, they received a call Saturday night from a man that saw his stolen Ford Explorer in a drive-thru near 41st and Garnett. Officers tried to pull over the Explorer but they say the driver took off through town, reaching about 85 miles an hour on 11th street before losing control and hitting a utility pole at 193rd East Avenue.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle and the passenger was pinned in the car. Officers say this mess could have been avoided.

"I mean it's a simple stolen vehicle. Had they pulled over, probably went to jail for stolen vehicle charge, something of that nature. Now they're sitting in the hospital with serious injuries," said TPD Sgt. Darren Bristow.

Police say the injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
