The family of a motorcycle crash victim says their loved one has a long road of recovery ahead.
Ronnie Moss is in the ICU after he was driving down Southwest Boulevard near West 23rd Street Tuesday night, when Tulsa Police say a pickup driver pulled out in front of him.
"He's got a broken back, broken pelvis, kidney damage,” His sister, Deejay Hollan, said.
She said it’s a miracle he's alive.
"He had to have an angel riding with him, because he torpedoed into that truck,” she said.
Just a few days into Ronnie's recovery, his family is thankful for each moment with him.
"He can be crotchety when he wants to be, but he'd give you his shirt of his back at the same time,” Hollan said.
The father, and grandfather, is a truck driver, so he's spent a lot of time on the road. On his down time, he's cruising around on his custom bike.
"He had to lay it down once before. Somebody almost hit him,” Hollan said.
But this time, Deejay said he didn't have a chance to lay down his bike before slamming into the pickup.
"He's been all over the country, Canada and everywhere,” she said. “And within this close to where he lives, he got hurt."
A witness told Deejay people stopped to help Ronnie moments after the crash. She and other family members want to know who it was, so they can thank them.
"They could have passed him up, like some people do,” she said. “But they didn't. They stopped and they helped him."
Officers say the pickup driver was not hurt and told us on the scene they weren't sure if she would be arrested.
