Pool At Tulsa's Wyndham Hotel Shut Down After 7 People Get Sick

The pool at the Wyndham Hotel off 41st street is shut down by the health department after at least 7 people got sick from the water.

They say all the people that got sick were swimming in the pool here during the weeks of March 17th and March 20th, popular because of spring break.

After a number of complaints, the health department visited the site and investigated it finding a ventilation issue as partly to blame. One parent, Scott Sutherland brought his entire family here and tells us 8 kids and three adults had to be hospitalized with what doctors diagnosed as chemical pneumonitis.

"I don't want to see somebody else go through this it could really affect someone's life for the long term we don't know what the acute effects are or the chronic effects.. either one," said Sutherland.

The health department tells us repairs are being performed and the pool is not to be re-opened until the hotel contacts them. When we reached out the hotel declined to comment.
