A cat from Mustang, Oklahoma was reunited with its owner after hitching a ride under the hood of a car all the way to Tulsa.
Tulsa firefighters rescued the cat, which had climbed into the motor compartment of the car. The driver of the car had come all the way from Mustang when she realized she had a hitchhiker.
Not long after News On 6 aired the story, Melissa Rother from Mustang recognized their pet. She says the cat's name is Snickers and says she had been gone for a few days.
Rother and her son traveled to Tulsa Friday afternoon for the sweet reunion. It wasn't without complication.
While at the fire station, Snickers climbed into another vehicle - this time a fire truck.

Another rescue operation got underway, and Snickers was eventually back in her owners' arms.
"She's known for escaping and getting up in the engine, so she did that again here," said Aubrey Emerson, Tulsa firefighter. "It took some work to get under there. Covered in grease because we were crawling up in there trying to get her out again."
Rother and her son posed with Emerson and his boy - who had taken care of Snickers while she was in Tulsa.
"We just kept laughing about it like - we can't believe she did that," Melissa Rother said. "She's just a very curious cat."
Thankfully, Snickers is OK after all that adventure. She's headed home to Mustang.
