TULSA – There are more changes coming to the Promenade Mall.
Victoria's Secret closed this week, adding to a list of stores closed because their leases expired.
Promenade Mall General Manager Veronica Butts said three local businesses have expressed interest in taking the old Victoria's Secret space.
It may be another month before people can see a movie at the mall. We were told in January that the movie theater would reopen February 1st, but that hasn't happened. Butts said that is because new management took over after the lease expired.
She also says a "$5.99 Store" has replaced the Charlotte Rousse that closed.
Other changes that were supposed to take place by March 1st are also delayed another month. Those include a new candy store, and whoever is taking over the old American Eagle location.
The mall's general manager says she wasn't available to speak with us on camera today, but we heard from shoppers and an employee about their experiences and the changes coming.
Melissa Kennison said she doesn’t shop at Promenade.
"No, I never do,” she said.
AMY: Why is that?
“I don't know, it seems run down to me,” Kennison said.
"Hopefully it'll bring some positive changes because a lot of the stores were closing. And I'm hoping that it will bring in more business to Promenade because it's been really slow,” Hot Topic employee Ali Smith said.
The old Macy’s location flooded this week after a pipe broke.
Butts said there are still plans for someone to move in this summer. The mall is not saying what's on the way, but says it will not be a department store.
