West Tulsa Save-A-Lot To Reopen Next Month

A West Tulsa grocery store that closed late last year will be reopening. Tulsa City Councilor Jeannie Cue said the Save-A-Lot at Crystal City should be back in business by early March.

The Save-A-Lot opened about three years ago along Route 66 in West Tulsa, and City Councilor Jeannie Cue said it was doing well. But because of some financial setbacks - the operators, Honor Capital, had to close it.

Councilor Cue said the Tulsa Economic Development Corporation voted Friday in favor of using some community block grant money to help the new operator re-stock and get the doors back open.

"It is a loan that will be paid back, but it's just so much for an area that's a food dessert - and so many senior citizens shop here. It's an economic driver," she said.

The new operator, SLC Investments, also runs the Save-A-Lot at Pine and Lewis.
