Dozens of volunteers spent Monday giving back to the community.
The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma had volunteers cycling through all day, packing backpacks for kids, sorting food and more. It's the second year in a row the food bank has held a day of service on MLK Jr. Day.
"I meant to kind of honor the legacy and life of Dr. King, he was a big proponent of citizenship and helping other people. So, that's what we try to do today in our volunteer center," said Conner Carroll.
Several groups volunteered today, including students from the University of Tulsa and Americorps.
