Police arrested a Tulsa couple on a complaint of child neglect, saying their baby son was severely malnourished.
Police say the case began on August 21, 2018 when a child welfare worker from the Department of Human Services found the then 5-month-old son of Vincent Wilson, 27, and Melissa Miller, 33, was being neglected.
The family was living in an apartment near 64th & Mingo. The worker reported the boy was severely underweight and was not being cared for physically.
In addition to being "grossly malnourished," the boy was dehydrated and was covered with lesions, insect bites and dermatitis, according to court documents. He was taken to the hospital and was released six days later.
In a follow-up visit on August 30, 2018, a doctor confirmed child neglect both nutritionally and medically, police say.
Police arrested Wilson Wednesday and Miller Thursday morning. They're each being held on a $25,000 bond.
