Deputies Make Arrest In Cherokee County Crossbow Shooting

Cherokee County authorities confirm the arrest of a man following a crossbow shooting earlier this month.

Deputies along with Tahlequah Police arrested 37-year-old William Washee Thursday at about 4 a.m.

Deputies say Washee was hiding in a house in the area of Cherokee Springs Golf Course, southeast of Tahlequah. They say three people in the house with him were also taken into custody for helping Washee evade capture. They are identified as 30-year-old Jeannie Hastings, 27-year-old Jennifer Feather and 47-year-old Thomas Sumner.

The sheriff's office says a man was shot in the head at Washee's home, which is just east of Tahlequah on Friday, December 7th.

Deputies Searching For Person Of Interest After Crossbow Shooting

At last check, the victim is in critical condition, but expected to survive.
