AAA in Broken Arrow is hosting a winter prep event this Friday at 101st and Elm. They invite drivers to come get a free battery, tire, and fluid inspection from 10 am. To 2 p.m.
“With daytime temperatures and overnight lows beginning to usher in Old Man Winter, there’s no time to waste in getting your car checked out,” said Mark Madeja, AAA Oklahoma spokesperson. “Car batteries perform 35 percent less efficiently when the temperature is below 32 degrees. The holiday season is no time to chance a worn-out battery.”
AAA says car batteries typically last only three to five years.
Friday’s event will also have giveaways, treats, special deals, and holiday refreshments. They will be passing out recipes for non-alcoholic party drink options will be available to encourage responsible party hosting and safe ride planning.
AAA Oklahoma says it rescued 6,672 motorists during the holidays last year (Dec. 23 through Jan. 1). Car battery-related issues, lockouts, and flat tires were the leading reasons AAA was called.
