Tulsa State Fair Opens Thursday

The Tulsa State Fair is almost here. The annual event opens Thursday, September 27th. This year's theme is "It's Go Time!"

Again this year, the State Fair is asking people to take free shuttles to and from the fairgrounds. Every year, people get tickets or even towed for parking illegally back in the neighborhoods surrounding the grounds.

Shuttles are available at the following locations:

• Nathan Hale High School, 6960 East 21st Street
• OSU Tulsa, 700 North Greenwood Avenue
• TPS Service Center, 3027 South New Haven Avenue
• Tulsa Promenade Mall, 4107 South Yale Avenue

The City also wants drivers to be aware of illegal parking. The City said fines for illegal parking can range from $30-$60. Parking is prohibited:

• Within 10 feet of fire hydrants
• In yards (on lawn/grass)
• Between curbs and sidewalks and on sidewalks
• In "TOW AWAY ZONE" areas
• In "NO PARKING DURING STATE FAIR DATES" areas

Also the State Fair posted some of the new food items on their Facebook page, like Dutch Mini-Pancakes with extravagant toppings or Deep Fried Sea Salt Caramel Bacon Brownie on a Stick.

The Tulsa State Fair runs until Sunday, October 7th.
