The search continues for the person who shot two people outside of Tulsa’s Incredible Pizza Company on Tuesday afternoon.
Tulsa Police say this started on the west side of Incredible Pizza and they believe it was a drug deal gone wrong.
Police say an argument broke out between two males and one of them began shooting at the other, who was standing outside his vehicle with kids inside.
Brad Edwards, the Senior V.P. of Operations at Incredible Pizza, says it was a slow day at the restaurant until a woman came running inside saying her fiancé had been shot.
“She was pretty hysterical. It was hard to understand her, so I just followed her outside and we came running out here,” said Edwards. “Two other gentlemen came running from the Hampton Inn and that’s when the police showed up, and the ambulance.”
Police say they found marijuana and money, so they believe the male and female victims were either coming to buy drugs or to give the suspect money. That’s when, they say, the suspect started shooting.
“The main victim that got shot took off running around the back of the building,” said Sergeant Mark Watson. “The main suspect followed him in a vehicle and fired rounds at him as he was running.”
Sgt. Watson says he believes the female victim hopped in the car and started driving around the back of Incredible Pizza before she found her fiancé lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the neck. The female had been shot in the torso and there were two kids in the car.
“It’s dangerous. We are lucky no one else got hurt on this deal,” said Watson.
He says the male and female victim were both transported to a Tulsa hospital, but at this time, they aren’t being very cooperative.
“He is talking at the hospital, but he is saying that he has no idea who the suspect is, but we think he knows him,” said Watson.
For such a family-friendly place, people were shocked to see the flashing lights and crime scene tape in the parking lot.
“We are praying for the victims and we’re just sorry this all happened,” said Edwards.
Police say that with so many kids around, this could have been much worse.
Police are still looking for the shooter. They do not have a description at this time, but they do know that he was driving a dark-colored SUV with out-of-state plates.
