A Tulsa community is celebrating the completion of McKinley Elementary School's new wing.
Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Deborah Gist spoke at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held earlier today. The project features ten new classrooms, a tornado-safe room, and a newly-paved parking lot.
"We're excited to have these new spaces for our students," said McKinley Principal Lynette Dixon. "We had 8 trailers out back before so now all of our students are inside."
The project was part of a $415-million bond project passed by Tulsa voters back in 2015.
