Three people are in jail accused of breaking into cars in a neighborhood near 21st and Yale.

Police said two of the suspects led officers on a chase.

It all started near 24th and Yale when a man came home from the gym to find a woman rummaging around in his truck.

The man said he chased the woman down the street a little way before police arrived.

When officers got there, they saw a gray truck speeding away from the scene but couldn't get the truck to pull over.

Police chased the truck on and off of I-244 a way. At one point, officers said the truck exited on Sheridan and actually hit a car with a person inside it.

Fortunately, detectives said it was a minor accident and the person inside the car was able to drive away from the scene uninjured.

"Two of our officers deployed spike strips on the truck which ultimately caused it to kind of stop here and sort of get stuck," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Adam Dawson.

The victim, Gary Winthorpe, said that he's gotten everything back that was stolen from his truck.

"She threw all the stuff that she had in her arms, the radio, insurance cards and all that. Hopped some fences, and about that time, the police helicopter came out," Winthorpe said. "It's literally a daily occurrence in this part of town that people are breaking into cars."

Officers said the Chevy S10 the two men were driving was also stolen.

Both men in the truck, Gary Day and Patrick Hunt, have been booked into the Tulsa County Jail.
