A rehearing for former Tulsa County Reserve Deputy Bob Bates was denied by the Court of Criminal Appeals.
Bates was tried and convicted of second-degree manslaughter in the death of Eric Harris and sentenced to four years.
The judgment and sentence was affirmed on February 15, 2018, and a petition for a rehearing was filed afterward.

Friday, March 23, the appeals court denied the petition.
A petition for rehearing can only be filed for two reasons:
After reviewing the claims put forward by the defendant, the court said, “Appellant has neither cited any question decisive of the case overlooked by this Court, nor has he cited an express statute or controlling decision which was not brought to the attention of this court.”
Tulsa County has settled with the family of Eric Harris for $6 million earlier this month.
