A father's daughter is dead and her boyfriend is in jail after telling 911 she committed suicide.

Police said they found several inconsistencies in Jermico Willis's story after officers found his girlfriend, Iesha Wallace dead.

Wallace’s father, Billy Reagor, said the couple's relationship was trouble from the start, and now he wants answers.

"I'm dead inside. A part of me died. When they told me she was dead I just, I mean, I felt my spirit leave me," Reagor said.

Reagor said he never imagined Saturday would be the last time he would hear from his 25-year-old daughter.

"I keep hoping my phone is going to ring with her saying, ‘Daddy, I'm on my way to come get my car and pick up the kids to go home,’ but I know that's never going to happen," he said.

Police arrested Willis after Wallace was found dead in her apartment.

Investigators said Willis called 911 to report she had committed suicide, but the medical examiner said Wallace was shot from at least three feet away, so officers arrested him on a first-degree murder complaint.

"He did call in and claim that she shot herself. The neighbors on each side hear her fall down the steps and then they hear him yelling inside," Sergeant Dave Walker said.

Reagor said his daughter was a hard worker and a daddy's girl who just wanted the best for her three young children.

"That's what hurts me more than anything, is that my grandkids are not going to see her no more," he said.

As police search for answers, Wallace’s family waits.

"I miss her smile and her laugh. I just miss her," Reagor said. "That was my baby. That was my best friend."

Police said Willis was convicted of assault and battery in March 2007. He is also currently on federal probation for a different crime.
