A 6-year-old boy went to the hospital after a crash over the weekend. Police said it happened when officers were chasing a stolen car, but the suspect claims she bought the car legally.
Alexa Torres is in jail facing six charges. One is a felony charge for possession of a stolen vehicle because the white Acura she was driving was reported stolen six months ago.
Torres is no stranger to law enforcement. She's been in jail for possession with intent to distribute and driving under the influence of drugs.
"You only make it worse when you run," said Officer Jeanne MacKenzie, Tulsa Police.
Sunday police arrested Torres after a chase that ended when she crashed into an SUV. A 6-year-old boy was thrown from the SUV, and two adults were also hurt.
Police said the child had three teeth knocked out, and his face was covered in blood.
"And it sounds like he really landed on his face," MacKenzie said.

Police say they started chasing Torres when someone called 911 to say they were following their stolen car - a white Acura missing since May.
Even after police caught up with Torres she didn't stop. Investigators on the scene found out Torres didn't have insurance or a drivers license due to a previous conviction.
"Two tickets she would have been on her way, but by running from police she added several felony charges and a child got injured."
Tulsa police officer Jeanne MacKenzie says, Torres' said she legally bought the car, and that she didn't stop because she didn't think police would buy her story.
"It may not always work in your favor, but it's better to stay and talk with officers to give your story," Officer MacKenzie said.
When a car goes missing, especially so long ago, police says it's not uncommon for the original thief to sell it for profit. So it's possible Torres thought she bought the car outright.
The district attorney will decide if charges will be filed.
As for the family hurt in the SUV, people who know them say this was a scary situation, but they are doing much better.
