The Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite, Oklahoma is having some water issues.
Lone Wolf, the town that provides the facility’s water is having some problems and water pressure has been low.
Department of Corrections spokesman Matthew Elliott says when that occurs, the toilets at the facility flush constantly and make the problem worse.
Because of that, DOC has shut off water to the housing units.
To allow inmates to flush their toilets, each cell is provided with a 5-gallon bucket of water.
Water service is still on in other parts of the facility so the inmates do have access to drinking water.
They have not been able to take showers but the situation is expected to be fully resolved sometime Sunday morning so that should not be an issue.
