Storms hit hard in the Claremore area Thursday night; at one point about 1000 people were without power.
Roads were closed and there was a significant amount of damage to power lines, including some down poles.
The Claremore fire chief said crews worked to restore power as quickly as possible.
There was also a main circuit down on the east side of town. The chief said it’s the most extensive damage he’s seen so far.
One family said their young daughter was home with no power during Thursday’s storm.
"We’re talking to her on the phone, told her to get in, we have the storm shelter, told her to get in the storm shelter and, and we’re driving through the storms and its pouring down rain, and we can see the damage. And, so, yeah, we’re a little nervous as parents,” Mark Priess said.
There are no reported injuries.
