The Boulder, Colorado Police Department plans to search landfills for evidence in the murder of Ashley Mead, whose body parts were found in a dumpster in Okmulgee earlier this year.

Boulder Police have declined to be more specific about their search efforts.

Ashley Mead, 25, and her 1-year-old daughter, Winter, were reported missing February 14th after Mead did not show up for work in Boulder.

The next day, Okmulgee Police notified Boulder Police after finding body parts inside a suitcase in a dumpster outside a Walmart gas station. The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office identified them as Mead's.

Police believe Mead was killed in Boulder and dismembered in Louisiana, but a search for the rest of her remains has come up empty.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper found Mead's daughter with the baby's father, Adam Densmore, during a traffic stop in Pawnee County on February 15th. The trooper arrested Densmore on a child custody violation.

Densmore was then charged with first-degree murder in Mead's death and returned to Colorado.
