The Tulsa City Council has a busy day ahead Wednesday, and at one committee, they could help open the door for more development in the Pearl District near 6th and Peoria.
The councilors on the Public Works Committee have a couple interesting items on their agenda, and one of them is the old Laura Dester Shelter at 7th and Rockford in the Pearl District.
The Public Works Committee agenda says they could declare that property as surplus and hand it over to the Tulsa Development Authority.
The authority could then turn around and get proposals for sale or lease and redevelopment of the property. That committee will also be hearing from the water and sewer department on the increase in utility bills.
It's not clear if water bills are going up, or if they're discussing a spike.
