A Rogers County couple say they caught a thief red-handed and held him with a shotgun until deputies arrived.

Their whole neighborhood has been targeted; and even though they suspected who was doing it, law enforcement couldn't do anything without proof.

The Rogers County couple was sick of getting hit over and over - five times in the past several months - so they decided to do something about it, and it worked.

"I look out the window. He's in the camper. ‘He's in the camper, we got him.’ He grabs the flashlight and I'm right behind him. I grab the shotgun. Frank told him, ‘Get down,’ and when he heard that cock-cock, he got down," Kim said.

Kim and Frank said they had been broken into many times.

They were sick of the loss, sick of cleaning up the mess and sick of paying to fix broken locks and doors, so they installed some motion detectors under their carports and had it wired to an alarm inside the house, which is how they knew it was happening again.

Frank said, "I caught him right in the camper. He was still in the camper when I caught him."

They said all the neighbors were fed up, but investigators couldn't do anything without real proof, which they now have against Aaron Cope, a man they say lives nearby.

"He's been in and out of trouble,” Kim said. “He's already been shot once before by the lady across the street.”

In fact, Cope was in custody of the Rogers County Sheriff's Office this past weekend - he's even gone to prison for burglary.

Frank and Kim told him once he gets out this time he'd better not come back.

"I was like, ‘We finally caught you, you son of a b****. We finally caught you,’" Kim said.
