Police in southern California arrested a 22-year-old Tulsa man for the August murders of a Long Beach mother and her 4-year-old daughter.
Long Beach police announced Monday afternoon that Brandon Colbert had been taken into custody.
Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna said Colbert was identified as a suspect after being matched to DNA submitted by detectives.
Twenty-six-year-old Carina Mancera and her daughter, Jennabel Anaya, were shot to death while walking home from grocery shopping.
Investigators believe Colbert boarded a Greyhound bus from Tulsa to Los Angeles three days before the shooting on August 6.
Police are still trying to determine a motive.
Colbert has been booked into the Los Angeles County jail.
