The Oklahoma Highway Patrol believes alcohol and foggy conditions contributed to a two vehicle crash on Highway 75 east of Ochelata Thursday evening.
Troopers say six people were injured and were taken to the hospital after the 8 p.m. crash. They said the crash shut down the northbound lanes of Highway 75 just north of County Road 2900 for several hours.
The OHP report states a 2007 Ford pickup driven by Edward Fletcher , 51, of Sperry was crossing the northbound lanes of 75 to turn south when he was struck by a northbound 1997 Toyota Avalon, driven by Alfred Pruitt, 35, of Bartlesville.
Fletcher and a passenger in the pickup, 19-year-old Lacy Walker of Broken Arrow were injured. Both were taken to a Tulsa hospital.
In their report, the OHP says both Fletcher and Walker were not wearing their seat belts and and Edward Fletcher was apparently intoxicated.
Alfred Pruitt and and three children in the car, ages four, eight and eight, were also injured and taken to a Bartlesville hospital.
Troopers said it was foggy at the time of the crash.
