City Finalizing New Guidelines For Arkansas River Development

The City is finalizing the zoning and new guidelines for new construction on the Arkansas River.

It won't impact projects already there or those already approved, like the Helmerich Park development being considered for 71st and Riverside.

City planning director, Dawn Warrick said, "It calls for building and activities to be closer to the river, to put those activities at the river, as opposed to trash containers or parking spaces or delivery areas facing the river."

The final version of the guidelines will be reviewed in a public hearing August 17th, at City Hall.
