Man Dies After Mishap In Grand Lake

A man died at a hospital after a mishap on Grand Lake Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Grand River Dam Authority said the man was pronounced dead at the Grove hospital at about 4 p.m.

The man and a woman were riding on a tube being pulled by a boat near Sailboat Bridge when the man went into the water and had some difficulty, according to Justin Alberty with the GRDA.

He said the Monkey Island Fire Department helped pull the man from the water.

Alberty didn't release any information about the man's identity other than to say he was 54 years old.

It's not clear if the man drowned or something else caused his death.
