Two teenage girls were arrested after police said they took an overnight joyride. Tulsa Police were working a DUI checkpoint near 41st and Peoria when they noticed an SUV trying to avoid the area.
When officers tried to pull the driver over, they say she sped off eastbound on 41st. Police say she flew through red lights and reached speeds up to 60 miles an hour.
When she got to Garnett, police say she tried to make a sharp turn. and ended up flying into the Chase Bank parking lot. The SUV had some damage, and it scraped the side of the bank, according to police.
Police say the girls are 14 years old and had snuck out of the house. Fortunately no serious injuries were reported.
