Fourteen Stranded In Adair County Home By High Water

<p>The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says its airboat and one from the Illinois River Fire Department were used to rescue 13 Adair County residents stranded by high water Monday.</p>

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says its airboat and one from the Illinois River Fire Department were used to rescue 14 Adair County residents stranded by high water Monday.

Deputies said the 14 were in a home near Chewey Road near the community of Westville.  Troopers said it took rescuers several trips get all those in the home to safety.

The OHP says all 14 were taken to a nearby church. 

They said they were assisted by the Adair County Sheriff's Office, Chance Fire Department, Westville Fire Department, Adair County Emergency Management, Watts Police Department and the Illinois River Fire Department.
