History was made in Green Country Sunday morning in an ongoing construction project between Owasso and Tulsa. Demolition crews blew up one of the old bridges of Highway 169 that crosses over Bird Creek.
The project is between 56th and 66th Street North.
Everything appeared to go as planned as the bridge imploded early Sunday morning.
Construction crews started last summer on the $45 million project to widen Highway 169 over Bird Creek. ODOT is replacing eight bridges and widening it to six lanes.
News On 6 reporter Tony Russell was there along with several families who wanted to watch the end of the longtime bridge.
