With college hoops getting underway, it’s time to see where your team stands in the polls. ESPN Insider John Gasaway ranked all 351 Division I teams, including the four from Oklahoma.
“Each week this season I'll select my top 25 teams as part of ESPN's Power Rankings, and to get that ball rolling in 2015-16,” Gasaway wrote. “We decided to do something we've never tried before: Rank every team in the nation.”
“Basically, we wanted to see if we could cook up a labor-saving hack that would mimic some of what the best computer rating systems spit out,” he added. “Toward that end we calculated how much returning experience each Division I roster will have this season. The level of returning experience (measured in terms of possession-minutes) combined, of course, with how good a team was last season makes up the lion's share of these rankings for a given program.”
Here's how Oklahoma's teams ranked within the 351:
OU is ranked high on the list at No. 7, which is no surprise with the team’s returning star Buddy Hield along with his mainstays Isaiah Cousins and Ryan Spangler. With all five seniors returning, TU made its mark at No. 53. OSU trails TU at No. 59, and Oral Roberts landed the list at No. 205.
