Okmulgee Sheriff Says False Leads Hurting Murder Investigation

The Okmulgee County Sheriff tells us rumors, false leads and even vigilante-type behavior are making it difficult to track down a killer. 

Sheriff Eddy Rice says he wants detectives focused on Becky Hamilton's murder - not bogus reports which make it difficult for investigators and the victim's family. Someone shot and killed Hamilton on October 17th when she interrupted a burglar at her Beggs home.

Rice tells us investigators have interviewed nearly 30 people and served several search warrants in the case.

He says the department has also solved other cases during the murder investigation.
