A Green Country district attorney is calling on the help of pharmacists in the fight against Oklahoma's rising prescription drug abuse.
Several pharmacists from Claremore went to the Rogers County Courthouse Monday to attend training on the subject.
District Attorney Matt Ballard said that to successfully make an impact on the problem, communication between prescribers and law enforcement is important.
"They're on the front lines in seeing that a problem exists, and can help us in law enforcement's efforts in addressing the problem," said Ballard.
The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse recently reported that four out of five unintentional poisonings in the state involved prescription drugs.
