The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office has released the cause and manner of death for the inmates killed and wounded in a altercation at the private prison in Cushing Saturday afternoon. All the men were stabbed to death.
Four men died in the fight that took place in a pod at the Cimarron Correctional Facility. Three men died on Saturday and a fourth died of his injuries the next day.
Family members of 26-year-old Michael Mayden Jr. said he was an innocent bystander - behind bars for a probation violation because he didn't pay a court fine.
"I know a lot of people want to judge, you know, he's in jail, that's what happens, you know that's not true. People that say that don't know the person," said his brother James Hatton.
The family said they had hoped Michael would be released next month.

The difference in the cause of death terminology varies with the physician, according to Amy Elliott of the Medical Examiner's Office.
Three other men, Jared Cruce, Cordell Johnson and Jesse Hood, were hospitalized after the riot. All the men were from Oklahoma.
