A man died after being shot outside a midtown Tulsa apartment complex Sunday afternoon.

The shooting took place at the Windsor Village Town Homes in the 5200 block of East 47th Place. That's near Interstate 44 and Yale Avenue.

Homicide Sergeant Dave Walker said the victim, a man in his 30s, didn't live at the complex but was a frequent visitor. He was driving away when someone shot him.

He died on the way to the hospital, Walker said.

Police say a second man was wounded in the leg. He was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Authorities think the two shootings are related but have to question the man at the hospital.

Several suspects were seen running from the area toward the Tulsa Select Hotel. Walker said they are questioning possible witnesses but have not learned a great deal.

"The ones that saw something are just turning their back on us," Walker said. "It's not anything that you wouldn't expect, but it's like I always say in Tulsa, eventually they will see the light."

Crime scene tape roped off several areas including where the man's car crashed into a tree.

Police haven't released the name of the victim.
