A 93-year-old Tulsa golf course is wrapping up $4.7-million in renovations.
The Oaks Country Club at 6500 South 49th West Avenue started the project less than a year ago. The club now boasts new, more challenging greens, a new putting area for kids and adults and a third pool and new pool house.
Course golf pro Rick Reed say's it was a much needed upgrade that will give more options to players of all skill levels.
"It will be a great addition for our junior program and beginners and even the good players like it. They will come and dream up a game and it has really turned out nice and it has been a great addition and we are happy to have it," said Rick Reed, golf professional.
The course was actually designed by renowned golf course architect A.W Tillinghast--known for his work on many PGA courses. Members say the goal is to maintain and improve the club. As well as entice new members.
Club members expect to open the club back up to golfers by mid-May.
